About Sonography Academy

A graduate-level ultrasound curriculum built to prepare learners for professional sonographer competency and certification — not a survey site.

How content is built

Each lesson is authored from a registry/graduate research brief cross-verified against the standard references — Edelman's Understanding Ultrasound Physics, Kremkau's Sonography Principles and Instruments, AIUM practice parameters, ASE guidelines, and peer-reviewed literature. Lessons carry explicit learning objectives, derived equations, reference-value tables, worked examples, and registry-style assessment items with cited rationales.

Credential alignment

The curriculum maps to the published examination content outlines of the ARDMS (SPI plus the Abdomen, OB/GYN, Adult Echocardiography, and Vascular specialty exams), with parallels to ARRT and CCI. Doppler and image optimization are weighted heavily because they constitute more than half of the SPI exam.

Accuracy & review

Lessons are marked draft until reviewed by a qualified physicist or credentialed sonographer. Exam content weightings should always be confirmed against the current registry publications, which are periodically revised. The sourcing and accuracy plan lives in docs/ in the repository.

For educational purposes only. This platform is not a CAAHEP-accredited program and does not, by itself, confer eligibility for certification — accredited programs additionally require supervised clinical hours and competency assessment at a clinical affiliate.
